One of the most positive, game-changing things we can do for our success and goals is to change the image & concept we have of ourselves.
The Mind is Powerful. One of the most positive, game-changing things we can do for our success and goals is to change the image & concept we have of ourselves.
Our self-concept (how we view ourselves) is subconsciously working ALL the time. It’s determining our results OR our self sabotage.
When we try to let go of a negative habit, we tend to fixate on “not doing it” which actually just reinforces the habit more.
Instead, one of the best things we can do is start viewing ourselves as someone who no longer has that habit.
This has been shown to dramatically change results in many areas.
It worked for me :) Instead of obsessing about calories in and out, macros, protein/carb/fat ratios, food timing, blood sugar…I started viewing myself as simply a normal healthy eater, eating to Nourish my body.
Let me tell you, it is soooo much easier than dieting and restricting calories. The time I spent worrying and researching the “best way” the “newest trend” is substantial.
To apply this method, just take a few minutes each day where you get into a relaxed state and then visualize with as much detail as possible a new & improved version of yourself.
I visualized myself out for dinner enjoying healthy great tasting food and enjoying every bite with comfort. I visualized working out in a sports bra and feeling incredible and confident in my body, walking with confidence, having enjoyable shopping experiences. Each night I also visualized three things I am grateful for. I still do this most nights.
I slowly but surely changed my self-image into someone who enjoyed all foods without struggle and lived in a confident, healthy body… and the results followed.
I still eat really healthy, but now it is because it Feels Good. If I want ice-cream with my kids I have it, and I enjoy it.
This technique works for sports, relationships, the whole deal.
How you view yourself right now, is going to show up in your reality everyday.
What needs to change in your self concept & self image?
Decide to take the time, dedicate 10 minutes a day to visualizing an improved more confident you (first thing in the morning or as you fall asleep are great times to do this) and watch the transformation take place.
Your personal health journey is yours whenever you are ready to take that first step towards it. The mind is powerful. I simply coach and give guidance along the way.
