Life has No Pause Button, maintaining health and wellness in challenging circumstances is just part of the equation these days. Exercise, eating healthy nourishing foods and keeping a positive mindset are crucial to helping us go from overwhelmed to feeling like we are more in control during this busy, complicated and sometimes very stressful sort of life we find ourselves in. It is a 3-dimensional strategy that works.
I have seen how the past 18 months have affected both the physical and mental health of so many people in our community. Fear and uncertainty, loss or interruption of work, and adjusting to a new way of living have added additional sources of stress to all of our already busy lives.
As a health professional, I know that regular exercise, healthy eating habits and a positive mindset are crucial to increasing our sense of well being. We all want to reduce the feelings of anxiety, tension and depression that are so much a part of life nowadays. Exercise relieves stress, gives us that boost of energy and it improves our mood. No matter what, you never feel worse after you get your body moving.
Who wouldn’t want that? It is so simple, and yet seems so elusive.
Exercise also improves our immune system and our ability to recover from illness. This is simply so important, but especially right now. The pandemic just keeps going. We need to take action and responsibility for our own health and wellness. Trust in the tried and true process, it works.
Take that first step. Get out for a walk in the fresh air. Grab a friend and go to a class. Find what works for you and ask for help when you need it. I am here, always.
