While grabbing one of those Starbucks options is great when you’re in a pinch orsimply want a treat, they aren’t as nutritious as you may think. That’s why Iwanted to share a few ‘dupes’ you can make at home that contain higher quality, minimal ingredients. Plus, this way you can save some money & haveleftovers for later!
-½ cup brewed passion tea
-¼ cup coconut milk
-½ cup fresh strawberries
-Stevia to taste
What to do:
1-In a blender, combine the passion tea, coconut milk, strawberries & blenduntil smooth.
2-Add stevia to taste & blend.
3-Pour into a tall glass with ice.
-1 cup unsweetened almond milk
-1 packet of instant espresso powder or brewed espresso
-1 tbsp cacao powder or cocoa powder
-Stevia to taste (or honey or maple syrup)
What to do:
1-Heat up the almond milk until it’s simmering.
2-Add in the espresso powder, cacao, & stevia to taste.
3-Stir for 1-2 minutes & set aside to cool.
4-Once cool, pour into a glass with ice.
(makes6-8 cups)
-1 ½ cup egg whites
-½ tbsp avocado oil
-¾ cup roasted peppers
-1 cup sautéed spinach
-½ cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
(makes6-8 cups)
-7 eggs
-4 strips turkey bacon, or vegetarian option, cooked & chopped
-¼ cup cottage cheese
-½ cup shredded gruyere cheese
-½ tbsp avocado oil
What to do:
1-In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and avocado oil.
2(egg white cups) - Add in the roasted peppers, sautéed spinach, & Montereyjack. Whisk until well combined.
2(bacon egg cups) - Add in the cottage cheese, gruyere, & cooked bacon.Whisk until combined.
3-If using the sous vide method, pour the mixture into egg molds, cover, &set in a pot of 1 inch boiling water. If baking them in a muffin tray, spraythe tray with oil & pour the mixture into each tray.
4-For the sous vide cups, let the molds sit in the covered pot for 10-12 minutes.If baking, bake them for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees.
5-Once ready, pop out the egg cups & enjoy!
